Tessa Thompson

The actor Tessa Lynn Thompson was born on October 3, 1983 in Los Angeles, California. Thompson is the daughter of Marc Anthony Thompson (a singer/songwriter) as well as the grandchild of Bobby Ramos, an actor/musician. Her family was born within Los Angeles before moving to Brooklyn, New York. Her father is of Afro-Panamanian family and her mother is from Mexican as well as British Isles heritage. Thompson was a student at Santa Monica High School, which was where she performed in various theatre productions. Following her graduation, she began her studies in Santa Monica College, where she obtained a certificate in the field of cultural anthropology. At Pasadena's Boston Court Theatre, she played Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". It was her performance that made her a NAACP Theatre nomination the same year.
